Birmingham City were competing with Leicester City for Jamal Lascelles. Lascelles is expected to be announced as a new Leicester City player this morning.

According to a report from Alex Crook, Leicester joined Birmingham City and four other rival Championship sides in pursuing Jamaal Lascelles this January.

According to Sky Sports News, Birmingham City are one of six Championship clubs that have enquired about Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles. The 32-year-old's contract is set to expire in the summer, and he has not started a game since March 2024 due to a serious knee injury. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has stated that Lascelles is the only player who could potentially leave the club.
