Ishé Samuels-Smith Transfer from Strasbourg to Chelsea
Ishe Samuels-Smith has made a permanent return to Chelsea from Strasbourg, despite his recent €7.5 million transfer to the Ligue 1 club in July. Although he was officially announced as joining Swansea City on a season-long loan on Transfer Deadline Day, the Championship club clarified that he was arriving from Chelsea. Reports from BBC Sport’s Nizaar Kinsella and transfer specialist Ben Jacobs confirmed Samuels-Smith's permanent move back to Chelsea prior to his loan to Swansea. The 19-year-old had initially moved to Strasbourg as part of Chelsea's extensive squad changes in the summer of 2023, after progressing through Everton’s academy and a short spell at Stamford Bridge. His return to Chelsea coincided with Ben Chilwell's transfer to Strasbourg on Deadline Day, highlighting a significant exchange between the two clubs. Enzo Maresca’s team noted the re-signing of Samuels-Smith, pointing out the unusual circumstances of his swift return to Stamford Bridge following a brief period in France.
