Illan Meslier Transfer from Leeds United to Valencia
According to Teamtalk, Leeds United are ready to sell Meslier in January, with several clubs showing interest. Clubs in France, Spain, and Italy, including Inter Milan, Lorient, and Valencia, have reportedly monitored his situation. Meslier’s contract expires in the summer of 2026, and sources state the preferred route would be to accept a modest fee rather than see him walk away for free.
Team Talk reports that Valencia are also in the mix for Meslier's services and are maintaining contact with his representatives. The La Liga outfit prefer a pre-contract agreement in 2026 to secure him for free, but have not ruled out a January move if terms align.
Illan Meslier has emerged as a priority for Valencia, who are anticipated to part ways with Stole Dimitrievski. The 25-year-old French goalkeeper, who completed a full season with Leeds last year, is in high demand. Valencia regards him as their top target as they plan to make changes in their goalkeeping department. Meslier, who became a significant figure at Leeds after his 2019 arrival, is also drawing interest from other clubs such as Glasgow Rangers and Lorient. Reports suggest that Lorient has even submitted an offer to Leeds to reacquire Meslier, as he was originally nurtured in their youth system. Although Meslier started the season as the second choice to Lucas Perri, Valencia views him as a vital addition to bolster their squad.
