Team Talk has reported on Derby County's ongoing interest in Armstrong. The club maintains their interest following Armstrong's successful loan stint with them last season. However, despite this interest, Preston North End have engaged in discussions with Everton regarding a potential loan deal for Armstrong and are currently in a favorable position to secure the player. Although Everton has yet to accept a loan proposal from Preston North End, negotiations between the clubs are moving forward. Additionally, it is understood that Everton is eager to include a break clause in any loan agreement for Armstrong, which would allow them to recall him in January without incurring a fee, in order to cover for Idrissa Gana Gueye's absence during the Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.
