Franco Israel Transfer from Sporting CP to Torino
A Bola has reported on the imminent transfer of Franco Israel to Torino from Sporting. The 25-year-old goalkeeper is on the verge of joining Torino, marking a return to Italy after previously playing for Juventus before his move to Sporting in the summer of 2023 for a fee of 650,000 euros. The anticipated transfer fee to Torino is estimated to be in the range of 4-5 million euros. Having become the first-choice goalkeeper for Sporting in the 2024/2025 season following an injury to Antonio Adán, Israel is looking for a new challenge and is aiming to secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup. It has been noted that Torino has had a longstanding interest in Israel, with negotiations reportedly being well advanced. Additionally, Juventus holds a 30% right to future capital gains from the transfer.
Torino has begun talks with Franco Israel and has also made preliminary inquiries with Sporting regarding a possible transfer. This step is viewed as a contingency plan should Milinkovic-Savic transfer to Napoli. Sporting is willing to negotiate the transfer for €5 million, although Juventus holds 10% of the player's rights. Franco Israel, who lost his starting role to Rui Silva, still has two years left on his contract with Sporting. Nonetheless, the 25-year-old Uruguayan international may not remain at Alvalade, as he is a primary target for Torino. The Italian club is also evaluating Wladimiro Falcone from Sampdoria as an alternative option.
