It was claimed that Fer Lopez had expressed a desire to leave the club. The decision to reject all offers at the time has been beneficial in the short-term.

A £40m price tag has been placed on Lopez during the final stages of the summer window to discourage offers from Crystal Palace, who are described as UEFA Conference League winners. Crystal Palace made offers for Fer Lopez.

Spanish attacking midfielder Fer Lopez has attracted interest from Crystal Palace and Atalanta following his impressive start to the season with Wolves. According to journalist Alan Nixon, Wolves have placed a £40 million valuation on the 22-year-old. Nixon also confirmed that Palace are considering Lopez as a possible replacement for Ismaila Sarr, should Sarr leave.
