It is reported that Everton are monitoring Tiago Gabriel, a 21-year-old Portuguese centre-back from Lecce, with the aim of strengthening their defensive options. Several major European clubs are interested in the defender following his Serie A performances. He joined Lecce from Estrela Amadora in January 2025. The Toffees view Gabriel as a potential long-term investment and could face competition for him from Italian clubs AC Milan and Inter Milan, in addition to Bayern Munich and Crystal Palace. In the past, he has also been linked with West Ham. Everton will need to assess if they can compete financially with clubs that offer European football. The defender has nine caps for Portugal at the U21 level. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €15.00m. A January departure is a possibility, but Lecce's negotiating position is strong because his contract runs until June 2030. Lecce may prefer to keep the player until the summer.
