Djibril Soumare, a 23-year-old midfielder, joined Sheffield United from Braga last summer on a loan that includes a purchase option. He was brought in after the departure of defensive midfielder Vini Souza to VfL Wolfsburg, but has since not been consistently in the team and has not secured a permanent starting position. As decisions on player futures are to be made, it is considered highly unlikely that Soumare will remain at Bramall Lane for the start of the next season.
