Benfica is monitoring Denil Castillo, a 21-year-old Ecuadorian defensive midfielder currently with Danish club Midtjylland. This interest is not new, as Benfica's scouting department has been observing the player for over a year. Midtjylland signed Castillo from Shakhtar Donetsk for five million euros, has the player on a long-term contract until 2029, and is reportedly unwilling to sell him for less than six million euros. Premier League clubs, including Brentford and Bournemouth, are also said to be monitoring the Ecuador international, who has four caps for his country.
