Falkirk captain Brad Spencer, a 30-year-old Scottish and English defensive midfielder, received three offers from William Hill Premiership rivals Dundee United during the close season, and one bid was believed to have been a six-figure sum. Falkirk manager John McGlynn subsequently described the bids as embarrassing, and the player remained with the club. Spencer confirmed the club communicated its stance clearly that it did not want to sell him, which he was fine with, and he was not actively seeking a transfer. He revealed he had positive discussions with the chief executive, the board, and the manager, and they were all in agreement that he was happy at the club. The player added that it did not feel like the right time to leave and that his relationship with the manager was a primary reason for staying. Spencer joined Falkirk in July 2023 and is under contract until May 2028, with a current Transfermarkt market value of €225k.
