There is talk that 22-year-old South African centre-back Olwethu Makhanya could move to a relatively bigger team in the coming months, following his performances in the Scottish top flight. Having only joined Rangers FC in July 2026, he has made 6 appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season and has been capped 3 times for South Africa. His current contract runs until June 2030, and he has a Transfermarkt market value of €8.00m. Clubs that have been recently linked with him include Red Bull Salzburg, Middlesbrough and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
