It would be unconventional for the club to extend the 22-year-old South African defender Olwethu Makhanya's contract, which runs until 2030, after signing him in the summer. However, the club may need to offer a higher wage to convince him to extend his stay at Ibrox. Makhanya, who has 3 caps for South Africa, has made 6 appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season. His current Transfermarkt market value is €8.00m.
