Celtic's approach to sign Benjamin Arthur on a permanent deal was immediately rejected by Brentford. Uzzi Majid reported this on X, and stated that the Premier League club considers the 20-year-old English defender untouchable and part of their future plans. Majid also added that Arthur is likely to stay with his current club for now, as Sepp van den Berg is reportedly set to be out for two to three months. Arthur signed a new contract last summer running until 2031. He had been on a short-term loan at Celtic since February, making six appearances. The defender has one cap for England U20, made four Premiership appearances for Brentford in the 2025/2026 season, and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €100k.
