Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Sunderland are among a number of clubs monitoring Rangers' Scottish midfielder Bailey Rice. Brighton, West Brom and Cardiff City are also reportedly monitoring the 19-year-old. Rice's future at Ibrox is uncertain as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season, making a departure on a free transfer likely. Attempts by Rangers to sign him to a new contract were unsuccessful, and an agreement on an extension was not reached between the two parties. A move for the player would only cost a club such as Sunderland cross-border compensation. Rice is currently recovering from a significant injury sustained in training in November which required surgery. The midfielder joined Rangers in July 2024 and has 16 caps for the Scotland U19 team. His market value is currently €800k, according to Transfermarkt.
