Chelsea is actively pursuing the immediate sale of Alfie Gilchrist for £5 million (€6m), amidst growing interest in the player. Gilchrist spent the previous season on loan at Sheffield United in the Championship. With only 12 months left on his contract, Chelsea aims to sell him now. Middlesbrough, along with Blackburn Rovers, Watford, Derby, and several clubs in the Saudi Pro League, are reportedly interested in the young player. Although Gilchrist is not currently part of the first-team plans under Enzo Maresca, he has made 11 Premier League appearances for Chelsea. The decision to sell the highly rated 21-year-old, who possesses significant potential, could lead to future regret for the club unless a favourable buy-back clause is negotiated as part of the deal.
