Adam Armstrong Transfer from Southampton to Birmingham City

Birmingham City are the latest Championship club to be linked with a late January transfer window move for Southampton's top scorer, Adam Armstrong. According to the Daily Mail, the club, which the publication describes as big-spending, has joined other suitors that include clubs in the MLS. Wrexham and Middlesbrough have also been previously linked with the 28-year-old English striker. The Southampton Daily Echo reports that sources at Saints claim they have not yet received a solid offer for the player. The player is under contract until 2027. The same publication reports that head coach Tonda Eckert has described the speculation as being a lot of noise. Southampton are said to be prepared for late bids for the forward, who departed on loan on deadline day last season. Armstrong has scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists in 29 Championship appearances this season for the club he joined in August 2021. In January 2026, reports valued a potential Wrexham move at around €17.7 million, while Middlesbrough were said to have made an 'eight-figure' offer. The forward has been capped five times for England U21 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €9.00m.
