Youssef Chermiti Transfer from Rangers to Galatasaray

4d ago

Team Talk reports that Galatasaray has made new approaches for Youssef Chermiti and is very interested in the player. The Istanbul club views Chermiti as a dynamic addition to their attacking options, and sources indicate that a potential bid is becoming more likely. Rangers want over £25 million, a fee that with add-ons could bring a Scottish record sale and be more than three times the amount they initially paid. However, there is doubt that Galatasaray will match the asking price, as Turkish teams frequently bargain and seek free agents or players in the latter stages of their contracts.

According to Turkish journalist Seren Dag, Galatasaray have added Rangers striker Youssef Chermiti to their shortlist of transfer targets. Rangers have set an asking price of €25m (£21.5m) for Youssef Chermiti. That fee would be a club-record amount for Rangers to receive for a player, surpassing the €23m (£19.8m) they received from Ajax for Calvin Bassey. It is currently unclear if the Istanbul club would be willing to pay that amount, or whether Chermiti would be willing to make the move.

Turkish club Galatasaray submitted a bid worth up to €15 million for 21-year-old Portuguese centre-forward Youssef Chermiti, who joined Rangers from Everton in the summer. Chermiti's arrival for €8.6m had made him the club's most expensive player in more than 25 years. The offer from Galatasaray was immediately dismissed. It is understood that Rangers manager Danny Rohl is unwilling to sell any players as his team challenges for the Scottish Premiership title. In the current Scottish Premiership season, Chermiti has recorded 4 goals and 2 assists in 16 appearances. His contract runs until June 2029, and his Transfermarkt value is €6.00m. Another Turkish club, Fenerbahçe, has also been linked with the striker.
