FC Porto has officially contacted Ajax to express their interest in Youri Baas, a 23-year-old Dutch Centre-Back. Ajax is open to a transfer for an acceptable price, with both a loan and a permanent sale being considered. The player, whose contract runs until the summer of 2028, is no longer guaranteed a starting spot despite first establishing himself as a regular player under Francesco Farioli, partly due to the development of Dies Janse. In addition to Porto, there are other clubs interested in Baas. The decision for him to start on the bench against Telstar seems to be a deliberate one, as Ajax is considering the scenario of a quick departure. Eintracht Frankfurt and Bologna have also been linked with the defender, who has yet to be capped by the senior Netherlands national team. Reports in May 2026 suggested Ajax could seek a fee of more than €20 million, and his current Transfermarkt valuation is €20.00m.
