Former Ajax trainer Francesco Farioli was interested in signing 18-year-old Belgian youth international Jorthy Mokio for FC Porto during the last transfer window. Farioli believes the midfielder has enormous potential and appreciates his versatility. The interest was not widely known, and a transfer did not happen because the player was not attainable for FC Porto. Jordi Cruijff had previously given Mokio a new contract running until the summer of 2031, and Transfermarkt estimates his value at fifteen million euros. Mokio, who joined Ajax in September 2025, has made 7 appearances and scored 1 goal in the Eredivisie this season. Real Madrid has also been linked with the player.
