Souza Transfer from Santos to Tottenham Hotspur
According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur's bid of £8 million ($10.8 million) for 19-year-old Santos left back Souza was unsuccessful.
Team Talk reports that Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Santos over a deal for Souza. The report states that Tottenham are the most advanced party and have proposed an initial deal worth €10 million. It is believed Santos values the player at approximately €20 million. According to Team Talk, despite an initial rejection from Santos, Tottenham have not withdrawn their interest, and talks are continuing.
An offer from Tottenham for the 19-year-old Brazilian left-back Souza (João Victor de Souza Menezes) has been rejected. The bid for the Santos player was reportedly for eight million pounds, which is equivalent to approximately 70 million kroner, and is believed to have been rejected. Tottenham's move for a left-back follows manager Thomas Frank indicating that the club is seeking to sign players during the January window. Souza has a release clause of 745 million kroner that is applicable to foreign clubs. His contract with Santos is valid until the end of 2028 and he has 12 caps for the Brazil U17 team. Other clubs that have been linked with a move for the player are Chelsea, AC Milan, and FC Barcelona. It was reported in December 2025 that Santos rejected a €10 million offer from AC Milan, with the club wanting a minimum of €12 million. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €5 million.
