Brentford has watched Rennes striker Esteban Lepaul while considering potential additions to their attacking options. The French forward is also being tracked by several Premier League clubs before the January transfer window. Everton, Leeds United, and Aston Villa checked on the 26-year-old forward, who has three caps for France, during the summer. Brighton has also monitored him. Everton's interest is currently considered the strongest. In response to the summer attention, Rennes signed Lepaul to a new long-term contract to protect his value. A potential January transfer remains a possibility despite the new contract, but any deal is dependent on the position of Rennes and the amount of interest that emerges in the coming months. Esteban Lepaul joined Rennes from Angers in August 2025 for a reported fee of €13.5 million plus bonuses. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €45.00m. Reports in October 2026 suggested that Rennes had set an asking price between €50 million and €60 million.
