Newcastle United has confirmed the signing of Seung-soo Park, an 18-year-old offensive winger from Suwon Bluewings, a second division club in South Korean football (K League 2). Park, who has made 28 professional appearances for Suwon's first team, scored one goal and provided three assists, has also represented the South Korean Under 20 national team five times. Park expressed that joining Newcastle United is a huge honor and a significant step in his career. Steve Harper, the Academy director, commented on Park's potential and maturity. Park is set to join Newcastle's Under 21 team initially, with the aim of developing his skills and contributing to the club's future successes. In June 2024, he made history as the youngest scorer in South Korean professional football by scoring a goal in a 1-1 draw against Ansan Greeners.
