Manchester City is one of several clubs monitoring Santiago Beltrán, a 21-year-old River Plate goalkeeper who holds both Argentinian and Italian nationality. The senior Argentina national team, for which he has one cap, is also monitoring him. Other teams following the player include Aston Villa, Benfica, and Real Betis. In response to foreign interest, River Plate renewed Beltrán's contract until December 2027. The player joined the club in January 2025, and his contract establishes a release clause of €21 million.
