Sammie Szmodics Transfer from Ipswich Town to Norwich City
Sports Boom has stated that Norwich is considering a move for Ipswich Town's Sammie Szmodics this month as an alternative to Kasper Hogh, for whom they face competition from Celtic. Norwich's search for a forward is to find a replacement for Josh Sargent, who is reportedly seeking to leave in January. A transfer for the 30-year-old Irish international would be the second move between the two rival clubs this season, following Marcelino Nunez's move to Ipswich in the summer. Szmodics joined Ipswich from Blackburn Rovers in August 2024 for a reported fee of €10.6 million. He has a contract with the club until June 2028 and has scored one goal in 16 Championship appearances this season. Other clubs recently linked with a move for the player include Derby County, Stoke City, and Wrexham. It has been reported that Derby had an initial bid rejected by Ipswich in January 2026. The player's market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €7.00m.
