Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali vetoed a sale of 20-year-old Samir El Mourabet. The RC Strasbourg midfielder was declared non-transferable because BlueCo, the majority shareholder in both clubs, wants to keep the Moroccan international within its group. RB Leipzig had shown interest in El Mourabet, but a move to the German club did not happen, and interest from Juventus and Villarreal also ended. The player is now expected to remain at Strasbourg for the season to continue his progression, which has led to suggestions of a potential future transfer to Chelsea. El Mourabet, who has 9 caps for Morocco, joined Strasbourg in July 2025 and is under contract until 2030; his current Transfermarkt market value is €22.00m.
