According to an internal club source, Lyon refuses to make a panicked sale. The club prefers to retain the 24-year-old player, considering a departure in January to be neither sportingly nor strategically opportune.

Six months after the 24-year-old Dutch defender Ruben Kluivert joined Lyon from Casa Pia, he is attracting interest from Crystal Palace. Negotiations between the two clubs are already underway. Crystal Palace is reportedly determined to bring the 1.87-meter defender to Selhurst Park this winter, as the transfer window in both England and France is set to close. A potential sale of Kluivert, who is under contract until mid-2030, could provide Lyon with what was described as much-needed financial resources. In the current Ligue 1 season, Kluivert has made 10 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Greek club PAOK has also been linked with him. His Transfermarkt market value is €2.50m.
