Spanish defensive midfielder Martín Zubimendi, 27, is ready to leave Arsenal in January to improve his career situation, and sources have confirmed that a number of leading European clubs have been made aware of his availability. In Spain, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid have all shown interest, while Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in Germany have also been informed of his availability. In the Premier League, Chelsea have been spoken to about the matter, and Liverpool have also been notified. However, Liverpool are considered less likely to make a move at this stage, as their previous interest was under their former management. Arsenal, who signed Zubimendi for £60 million in 2025, are aware of his desire to leave and the possibility of a January move. A loan is understood to be one option the club could consider, although the structure of any potential deal would need to be assessed. Zubimendi, who has 30 caps and 3 goals for Spain, has a contract with Arsenal until June 30, 2030, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €65 million.
