Martín Zubimendi, a 27-year-old Spanish defensive midfielder, is prepared to leave Arsenal in January. According to sources, seven of Europe's biggest clubs have been informed of his decision. Sources also state that both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have been made aware of the midfielder's availability and the possibility of a January departure. Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid have all shown interest in taking Zubimendi back to Spain. Within the Premier League, Chelsea has been spoken to about the situation, and Liverpool has also been informed, though a move from the Reds is considered less likely. According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal is aware of Zubimendi's feelings about a potential move. The club paid £60 million for him in 2025 and could consider a loan arrangement, although the structure of any deal would need to be assessed. The midfielder is yet to start a Premier League game this season. His contract at Arsenal is due to expire in June 2030. The Spain international has 30 caps and 3 goals for his country, and his current market value is €65.00M, according to Transfermarkt.
