Rémy Descamps Transfer from Olympique Lyonnais to West Bromwich Albion
According to L'Équipe, West Bromwich Albion is interested in Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper Rémy Descamps. The club is currently eighteenth in the Championship. Descamps could leave Olympique Lyonnais during this winter transfer window. He is under contract with the club until June 30, 2027, and joined on a free transfer from FC Nantes in August 2024.
French outlet Le Progres claims that West Bromwich Albion placed an offer for Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper Remy Descamps at the beginning of the current winter transfer window, and that the goalkeeper is estimated to be earning a salary of approximately £27,300 per week.
Le Progrès, relayed by Foot Mercato, reports that West Bromwich Albion have Lyon goalkeeper Rémy Descamps on their wish list for the winter market. Le Progrès states that West Brom are offering Descamps an opportunity to feature regularly, adding that he is close to leaving and could move to England. Hull City have a transfer ban for January, which gives West Brom a clear advantage to sign the Frenchman.
Le Progrès reports that Rémy Descamps has received concrete approaches from West Bromwich Albion. The Olympique Lyonnais player does not rule out a departure to get more playing time and better salary conditions.
West Bromwich Albion and Hull City, two English Championship clubs, are interested in recruiting Olympique Lyonnais' French goalkeeper Rémy Descamps and would offer him playing time. The interest in the 29-year-old follows him losing his starting position after returning from a hand injury. He has made four Ligue 1 appearances this season. Lyon had been open to his departure last summer, however, a potential move was not necessarily part of their current plans for the player. He joined the club in August 2024 and has a contract until June 2027. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €2.00m.
