Redouane Halhal, a 23-year-old Moroccan and French defender, has signed for Venezia on a five-year contract in a deal worth five million euros plus bonuses and a sell-on clause. Venezia signed the defender amid interest from other clubs, including Benfica, which had been tracking him for several days. Nottingham Forest and an unnamed French club also made inquiries about the player, who had been a target for Verona during the previous winter transfer window. A reported offer of around €3.5 million was made in January 2026. Halhal, who has been capped five times by Morocco, joined his former club KV Mechelen in August 2024 and made 65 domestic league appearances in the 2025/2026 season, scoring two goals. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €5.00m.
