The Czech goalkeeper was signed by Bristol City on loan from United at the end of July 2025, with the deal including a recall clause for January. The 6ft 6in player was initially brought in as an injury replacement for Max O’Leary, who had played every game for the previous two seasons, but Vitek has since become the starting goalkeeper despite O’Leary’s return. This is the third loan spell away from United for Vitek, who also spent half of the 2023/2024 season at League Two Accrington Stanley. In November, Vitek said that his objective is to become United's first-choice goalkeeper.
