Bristol City are in advanced talks to sign Crystal Palace's young player Rio Cardines on a loan deal. The 21-year-old full-back, who can operate on either flank and made three first-team appearances last season, is being considered as a potential replacement for Ross McCrorie. The move for Cardines follows previous interest shown by Bristol City in Ipswich Town's Harry Clarke. Clarke was also reportedly a target for Stoke City, Sheffield United, and Preston North End. The Trinidad and Tobago international joined Crystal Palace in July 2025, and his contract is valid until 2028. His current market value is €300k, according to Transfermarkt.
