Over the past 12 months, several clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and teams from the Saudi Pro League explored the possibility of signing 25-year-old English attacking midfielder Phil Foden. According to TEAMtalk, Foden has reached an agreement in principle with Manchester City for a new contract. His previous contract had just over a year remaining. The new deal is set to keep him at the club until 2030 with an option for an additional year. Sources have indicated that negotiations between Manchester City's sporting director Hugo Viana and the player's representatives are almost finalised, with only formalities left to complete; TEAMtalk first revealed these negotiations in December. Foden hired agent Rafaela Pimenta, who was recommended by teammate Erling Haaland, and her involvement was pivotal in securing the long-term agreement. Foden has indicated his future is in Manchester, as he remains fully committed to the club. He has 49 caps and 4 goals for England. His current Transfermarkt market value is €80.00m. In September 2025, Saudi club Al-Nassr reportedly submitted a €130 million offer that Manchester City was not willing to consider.
