Transfer speculation has increased regarding Club Brugge's 22-year-old Portuguese winger, Carlos Forbs, after he registered three assists against Inter Milan in a Champions League match. On the program Tijd voor Voetbal, Daan Slingers suggested that with such displays, Club Brugge's treasurer probably feels the player's price tag increases by another €10m. Fellow panellist Glenn Schrader stated it has become impossible for the Belgian club to retain Forbs, predicting that five or six English clubs will probably show interest by this summer, or possibly as early as this winter. Schrader also said that Forbs's history of being trained in England is an additional benefit for these clubs. He believes the player is not suited to the defensive style of the Belgian league and could perform better in the Premier League for a team such as Manchester United or Tottenham, where he would not encounter opponents that defend so deeply. The Portugal U21 international joined Club Brugge in July 2025 and is contracted until June 2029. His current market value is €23.00m, according to Transfermarkt. In addition to the previously mentioned clubs, Fiorentina has also recently been linked with the player. Club Brugge's asking price was reportedly around €30 million during August 2026.
