Olly Whyte has joined the Championship club Ayr United on loan until the end of the 2026/27 season. The 19-year-old spent last season on loan in the Scottish second tier with Stenhousemuir and will re-join Gary Naysmith at his new club, Ayr. Whyte made his senior debut earlier this season against HB Torshavn in Motherwell's Conference League qualifier and has played in seven more games under new manager Alfred Johansson. Alfred Johansson said he wished Olly well for the upcoming season. Johansson also stated that the move represents an opportunity for him to compete at a higher level than last year and hopefully play regularly. He added that they hope Whyte is able to continue his development with a manager he worked with last year and that his progress will be monitored closely.

Anthony Joseph reports that Motherwell's 19-year-old Scottish midfielder, Olly Whyte, is set to join Ayr United on loan. Whyte, who joined Motherwell in July 2025, is scheduled to have a medical with the Scottish Championship club tomorrow.
