Initially, Zinchenko appeared likely to remain with Arsenal, particularly after negotiations with Marseille collapsed due to concerns over wages, leading Marseille to choose Emerson from West Ham instead. As the deadline approached, Nottingham Forest, who had been searching for a left-back throughout the day, took advantage of the situation after their unsuccessful bid to sign Atletico Madrid's Javi Galan. Arsenal’s recent signing of Piero Hincapie, who can cover the left-back position, eased Zinchenko's departure. The loan does not include a purchase option or obligation for Forest. According to Ornstein, both clubs are assured that all the necessary documentation was submitted on time, and they expect the Premier League to approve this last-minute transfer.
