Matías Soulé Transfer from Roma to West Ham United

1h ago

Representatives for the 23-year-old Argentinian winger Matías Soulé, who plays for AS Roma, have contacted West Ham United, which is considered a possible club for the player to join. Corriere dello Sport reports that Soulé's representatives are looking for opportunities across Europe for a new long-term club. West Ham is not the only club interested in the attacker, as Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, and Aston Villa are also reportedly interested in signing him. Roma are willing to sell the player because of financial constraints and the need to raise funds before a June 30 accounting deadline. The Italian club also intends to use the sale proceeds to finance a transfer for Mason Greenwood for their manager, Gian Piero Gasperini. Roma have set a €40 million valuation on Soulé. This price would represent a substantial financial outlay for West Ham, who were relegated to the Championship. The player's agents are negotiating with West Ham's management, and the negotiations need to proceed quickly because of the deadline. West Ham could possibly finance the transfer by using expected funds from their own player sales. Soulé is under contract until 2029. He joined Roma from Juventus in July 2024 for a reported fee of €25.6 million. During the 2025/2026 season, he scored 6 goals and provided 5 assists in 33 Serie A appearances.
