Matěj Kovář Transfer from Bayer 04 Leverkusen to PSV

Matej Kovar is on loan at PSV from Bayer Leverkusen with a purchase option, and according to Eindhovens Dagblad, the likelihood is 'very high' that he will remain at the club after this season. The publication reports that PSV initially wanted to sign Kovar permanently last summer, but Bayer Leverkusen preferred a structure that would see the sale recorded in the 2026/27 financial year. While BILD previously reported that PSV would be obligated to exercise the purchase option if they remain in the Eredivisie, reliable sources in football indicate that more conditions must be met for the transfer to become definitive. The option is, however, expected to be fulfilled soon. Kovar himself is reportedly open to staying at PSV for 'several more years.' If the conditions are met, PSV will acquire him for five million euros, with the amount potentially rising to seven million euros through bonuses.

Matej Kovar (25), currently on loan at PSV Eindhoven from Bayer Leverkusen, will transfer permanently to PSV for 5 million euros if PSV avoids relegation. The same model as Hincapié's transfer is being used.

The PSV Eindhoven has officially announced the arrival of Matej Kovar from Bayer Leverkusen. Initially reported for 7 million euros including 2 million euros in bonuses, the deal has been finalized as a loan with an option to buy set at that amount. Kovar, who is 25 years old and played 15 matches across all competitions in the 2024-2025 season, joins PSV following the departure of their former goalkeeper Walter Benítez to Crystal Palace. The announcement was made on July 15, 2025, as PSV welcomes their new Czech goalkeeper to the squad.
