Marcos Alonso is a free agent and is readily attainable. However, United have not made contact with Alonso or his representatives. At 33 years old, he is not the type of profile that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos group have envisioned for Man Utd going forward, but as an experienced figure, he could offer a fine one-season stop-gap.
