Luke McCowan has signed a contract extension with Celtic that lasts until 2028.

According to Football Insider, Celtic want to finalise a new manager before opening talks to extend the contract of midfielder Luke McCowan. The report adds that O'Neill does not want any negotiations at the moment as their focus is on getting results. McCowan has played 40 games this season, and he has one year remaining on his contract in the summer.

According to Pete O’Rourke, Celtic intends to hold discussions with Luke McCowan, their 28-year-old Scottish central midfielder, ahead of next season regarding a new contract. Discussions over an extension are now planned, but they will take place after the league title race and Scottish Cup final. McCowan, who joined the club in August 2024, is approaching the final year of his current contract.
