Newcastle United, Juventus, Real Madrid, and Bayern München were among several major European clubs interested in 18-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans. The goalkeeper is set to move to Liverpool from KRC Genk for a fee of approximately €35 million, with the transfer reportedly accelerated due to interest from other teams. As part of the deal, Brughmans will be loaned back to the Belgian club for a minimum of one more season to continue his development. Brughmans, who joined Genk in July 2024, has two caps for the Belgium U19 national team and his contract with the club was due to expire in 2030. His current market value is listed as €4.00m by Transfermarkt.
