Two Newcastle technicians attended the Racing-Valencia match at El Sardinero, where they observed David Otorbi from the box area. The scouts reportedly had an excellent impression of the young attacker, who came on as a substitute to score his first goal for Valencia. In addition to his on-field performance, the scouts were also said to have noted his character. Otorbi, who is one of several Valencia academy players to have attracted interest from economically powerful teams, renewed his contract in April, which is now in effect until June 2028 and includes a unilateral option for Valencia to extend it by three more seasons.
