Louis Munteanu Transfer from CFR Cluj to Dinamo Zagreb

According to a report from Iamsport, CFR Cluj reached an agreement with Dinamo Zagreb for a winter transfer for five million euros, an amount that is half of what the club's owner, Ioan Varga, had hoped for. Conversely, nacional.hr reported that Dinamo Zagreb's president, Zvonimir Boban, was not present at the match in Vinkovci, and that it was unlikely an agreement could have been reached without his knowledge and approval.

Romanian media claim that the Blues were interested in a young striker this summer and that an offer of 7.5 million euros was sent from Maksimir. CFR Cluj rejected the offer, demanding 20 million euros. iAM sport reports that the Romanian club is now ready to agree to five million euros. The outlet also claims that Cluj officials were at the Vukovar and Dinamo match to continue negotiations with the leaders of the Zagreb club. According to journalists from the iAM sport portal, CFR must solve financial problems, and the club's leaders are attempting to finalize the transfer of Munteanu, one of the club's most valuable players, as soon as possible.

Cluj might allow Louis Munteanu to transfer to Dinamo for five million euros. According to iAM SPORT, negotiations between Dinamo and Cluj are at an advanced stage. Romanian sources add that if Dinamo officially offers five million euros, the offer will be accepted. Representatives of Cluj were in Vinkovci this weekend to continue negotiations with Dinamo over the transfer of the striker. Iuliu Mureșan, president of CFR Cluj, said that Munteanu's transfer is a priority for the club. He stated that considering their financial problems, his sale would provide significant relief. Mureșan also said that the club has debts but they are managing, and that their players are owed one salary, while staff and youth players are paid regularly. It is stated that nothing will be agreed before January, and that Munteanu will not be in Zagreb before January 2026 at the earliest.

Neluțu Varga, the owner of CFR Cluj, stated that they had received and declined an offer of 7.5 million euros from Dinamo Zagreb for Louis Munteanu. He highlighted that the decision to reject the offer was made swiftly, suggesting that the club is aiming for a higher transfer fee. Furthermore, Varga disclosed that they also rejected a 10 million euro offer from Sevilla, who had expressed a willingness to increase their bid contingent on the sale of two players. Munteanu, who was acquired by CFR Cluj for 2.3 million euros, emerged as the top scorer in the Superliga with 23 goals last season, attracting considerable interest from major clubs. CFR Cluj is aspiring to secure the most expensive transfer in Romanian football history with Munteanu's potential move.
