Léo Pereira's agent, Ricardo Scheidt, stated that there were several proposals for the player, including from Nottingham Forest, West Ham, and Besiktas. Scheidt also recounted that Al Nassr made an offer that reached a figure Flamengo would accept, but the deal did not proceed because the manager at the time, Jorge Sampaoli, would not let the player leave. Pereira joined Flamengo in January 2020, has a contract until December 2027, and has four caps for Brazil.
