Ricardo Scheidt, Léo Pereira's agent, stated that there were several proposals for the 30-year-old Brazilian Centre-Back, including from Nottingham Forest, West Ham, Besiktas, Cruz Azul, and Monterrey. Scheidt also recounted that Al Nassr made an offer before they purchased Laporte, and although the bid reached a figure Flamengo would accept, the deal did not proceed because the manager at the time, Jorge Sampaoli, said he would not let the player leave.
Pereira, who joined Flamengo in January 2020 and has a contract until December 2027, has four caps for Brazil. In the 2025/2026 domestic league season, he has made 14 appearances and scored one goal. His current market value is €12.00m, according to Transfermarkt, and during previous transfer windows, Flamengo reportedly directed interested clubs to his €60 million release clause.
