Plymouth Argyle head coach Tom Cleverley confirmed that 19-year-old on-loan player Law McCabe is returning to his parent club, Championship side Middlesbrough. The loan for the England under-20 international, who signed at the start of September on transfer deadline day, was ended early due to a change in Plymouth's playing style to a more direct approach, which Cleverley admitted did not suit the midfielder's qualities. The decision was also influenced by the signing of Joe Ralls and existing competition for central midfield positions from Malachi Boateng and Brendan Wiredu. After a game on Sunday, Cleverley announced that McCabe's return would occur the next day and stated his belief that the player will become a top player in the future.
