James Morrison explained the decision to allow Krystian Bielik to leave for Cardiff City, stating the defender wanted more regular football, a desire he had to respect. Morrison also said the club felt it was a good offer and added that he loves Bielik as a player and a person.

Krystian Bielik has completed a transfer to Cardiff City from fellow Championship club West Bromwich Albion, signing a three-year contract for a fee of 2.5 million pounds (2.92 million euros). The transfer happened after the 28-year-old was no longer in West Brom's plans for the new season, a campaign in which he had only played for one minute. His previous season with the club was affected by recurring injuries, which limited his appearances. Cardiff City officially announced the signing on August 26, 2026.
