Cardiff City are in talks to sign Melle Meulensteen, a Dutch-English defensive midfielder from Go Ahead Eagles. It is understood that due to the transfer interest, the Dutch club left the 27-year-old out of their squad for a match against Feyenoord. Although the negotiations are not believed to be at an advanced stage, the club wants to avoid risking an injury to Meulensteen that could prevent a significant fee. Meulensteen joined the club in August 2025, has a contract until 2029, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €2.50m.
