Koki Machida Transfer from Union Saint-Gilloise to TSG Hoffenheim
Kicker reports on the official announcement of Koki Machida's transfer to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The transfer of Koki Machida to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim has been officially announced. The defender has been given a 'long-term' contract. The initial transfer fee agreed upon by TSG and Union Saint-Gilloise is around 4.5 million euros, which can exceed the five million mark with bonuses.
Koki Machida, the Japanese defender, joined Union SG in the summer of 2023 for 1 million euros after a loan period in Brussels. He established himself as a key player at the club and remains under contract until 2026, with a market value of 11 million euros. Interest was shown by several clubs, including Galatasaray and some from Germany. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Union SG has reached an agreement with Hoffenheim. Due to Machida's contract situation, Union SG will receive a lower fee than his market value, with the transfer amounting to 5 million euros, which is half of Machida's market value. It is anticipated that the transfer will be officially announced by the end of the week.
TSG Hoffenheim is reportedly in concrete and positive talks with Koki Machida from Union St.-Gilloise. Machida, a 27-year-old center-back, had previously transferred from Kashima Antlers in Japan to Belgium for one million Euro in 2023. He played 48 official matches for his club last season and is under contract until 2026. According to Sky, the deal is almost finalized. Currently, Transfermarkt estimates his market worth at 11 million euros.
