Six English clubs, including Coventry City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Fulham, Arsenal, and Chelsea, are monitoring SC Freiburg's 23-year-old Croatian international centre-forward, Igor Matanović, for a potential move. Matanović, who has 13 caps and 2 goals for Croatia, is on the shortlist of several clubs seeking to add attacking players in January or the following summer. According to sources, there is nothing advanced regarding a potential transfer, and no bids have been made. Freiburg are reportedly not under pressure to sell the player. Matanović's contract, which runs until 2029, strengthens their negotiating position. The club is said to value him at approximately £50 million. The German club signed Matanović from Eintracht Frankfurt in July 2025 for a fee reported to be around €8m. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €30.00m.
